Coachella kicks off in LA this weekend and it looks to be bigger and badder than ever before. The festival has been taking place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio California since 1999 and has grown into one of the coolest music festivals on the planet.
Last year the world saw a first of it’s kind live performance of a Hologram of the late Tupac Shakur which was nothing short of incredible. Watch it for yourself and tell me what you think (assuming you live under a rock and havent already seen it of course!) I wonder if they can top it this year?
Los Angeles has Coachella. Chicago has Lollapalooza. Yet somehow New York, home to theoriginal music festival – Woodstock – lacks a modern large-scale festival. But that could soon change, as The Governor’s Ball looks poised to fill that role. After a modest artist roster playing the event over the past two years, organizers have just released the massive lineup for the 2013 festival, which is topped by Kanye West and Kings of Leon, with a third headliner still to be announced. The festival also promises a solid undercard lineup including Kendrick Lamar, Cut Copy, Miguel, Alt-J, and Japandroids just to name a few. The 3-day event takes place on June 7, 8, and 9 on Randall’s Island, and tickets go on sale Friday, January 25 at 12:00 PM here.
