Walking on Eggs? Hyundai “shells” out new concept

Which came first…the Segway or the Egg? For those of you who delighted on the introduction of “The Segway” which never truly caught on for those not on government payrolls, you may be equally curious about Hyundai’s latest concept: “The E4U” which could stand for one or all of the following: Egg, Evolution, Electricity & Eco-friendliness.

Hyundai’s engineers unveiled a moveable egg concept that promises speeds faster than a Segway, and a strange helmet that makes you look far cooler than any skateboarder could ever dream. The result of an annual invention contest among Hyundai engineers in South Korea, the odd-egg was designed as a potential future of personal mobility: It can travel up to speeds just shy of 20 mph, weighs 176 lbs. and boasts a 24V battery attached to a 500W electric motor.

The E4U stands on semispherical balls in which the steering is controlled with an abundance of tilting, pivoting, and other unnatural behaviors required to induce motion. I’m not exactly sold on this making mobility easier, as it seems to require a lot of physical work just to get the ball rolling but it’s still a very promising concept. Check it out for yourself :

Puzzled | Fujitsu Life Book

So you’re packing your bag for that mini vacation and you can’t decide if you should take your laptop or your tablet with you…what about your digital camera…will you have room? Well now you won’t have to make that painstaking decision. Let’s introduce the Fujitsu lifebook to the mix. Instead of carrying around multiple gadgets at certain times, The Fujitsu 2013 Lifebook has a tablet in place of the classic keyboard. Remove the tablet when you need to and put it back when you’re ready to type that business report with its touch-screen keyboard for the laptop . Same with the webcam –skype with your boss while its integrated into the laptop or remove it and get a full digital camera to snap pics when you head out to dinner with your friends. The smartphone/MP3 also snaps in and fully integrates into the laptop. How Puzzling!

This is super cool in its design concept…but I can’t wait to see it in real life with it’s purported release for some time this year. Would you buy an All-In-One Super Gadget like this? Sound off in the comments!
