If you watched the Washington Redskins playoff game this past weekend then you witnessed the gruesome injury to Robert Griffin III, arguably the NFL’s best athlete. He went back to recover a botched snap and his knee buckled in a very ugly looking way. He went face down right away and clearly was in a lot of pain.
Griffin tore his ACL back in 2009 while at Baylor and he aggravated the knee earlier this season. Many even argued he shouldn’t have been in the game. Nobody can deny his talent, but like so many athletic QB’s these injuries could result in a very short career We sure hope not as we have a ton of respect for his game!
The end result was he tore his LCL and went under the knife today to see if there was any additional damage. During the surgery they fixed his LCL and re-worked his ACL. Timetable for return is 6-8 months which would mean he is ready for the season. Even though we are from New York, we are pulling for his full recovery! Read the full report here!
